Lorry Loader Novice

On successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate and photo-card. This certification has a validity of 5 years, after which refresher training shall be required to renew.

Duration

• 2 days

Aimed at

• Anyone who is required to operate a lorry loader.

• Course delegates may be new to the role or have operating experience without the appropriate certification.

Entry Requirements

• Good understanding of spoken and written English

• Good hand/eye co-ordination

Endorsement

On successful completion of the course delegates shall be awarded one of three endorsements, depending on the lorry loader attachment used:-

• Hook

• Clamshell bucket

• Hydraulic clamp

• Pre-use checks

• Pre-travel set-up and travelling the vehicle

• Manoeuvring in confined spaces

• Configuring for lifting duties

• Hazards, underground and overhead services

• Rated Capacity Indicator for lifting duties

• Weights & measures

• Lifting loads – radius, slewing & swing

• Securing loads on or in the vehicle

• Moving unbalanced loads

• Lifting accessories

• Safe working conditions

• Shut down and securing procedures
