The Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) course covers the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace.
This program is delivered as either an Initial or Refresher Delivery subject to the participants’ currency levels and prior LV rescue certification history.
Entry Requirements
Basic verbal and written English communication skills sufficient to read material and understand instruction.
A Unique Student Identifier number (USI)- if you don’t have one go to- usi.gov.au
Provide photo identification.
Wear closed in shoes.
Sun protection is also recommended (hat, long-sleeved shirt and pants).
Pass a language, literacy, and numeracy assessment (LLN) if applicable.
A pre-requisite of the course for learners commencing the LVR course as outlined in the unit of competency is certified in CPR.
Additionally due to the physical nature of the unit of competency learners must have the physical capacity to be able to rescue/ drag another human to safety and as CPR is a prereq the learner must be able to also complete 2 minutes of continuous CPR positioned on the floor.

The Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) course has training and assessment that is competency-based so the time of the course is dependent on a learner’s previous experience, capabilities, and abilities.
The typical duration of this full Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) course for someone who had no previous experience is approx 4 hours however where the course has to include a CPR component, depending on the learners’ experience and ability can sometimes make the course longer.
