Our M. Des. in Fashion Design is a two-year program that delves deep into the domains of Social responsibility, Fashion Visualization, Creative Design Process, Advanced Pattern Making and Construction Techniques, Textile and Material Design along with a strong focus on Professional Practice and Entrepreneurship.

The programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in fashion design, preparing them for careers in fashion industry with in-depth research in specialized areas.

The programme’s educational objectives typically include a broad intake of graduates, from any discipline to adopt an integrated approach to design and technical subjects with thorough market understanding.

Students will be experiencing a holistic learning through a process driven blend of theoretical, practical hands-on experience to function, strategize and render services to the fashion and lifestyle industry.

Students will be exposed to the latest technology like CLO 3D for innovating their presentation a communication skill with 3D garment simulation technology. From designing to pattern cutting, the students will adopt an integrated approach for sustainable garment design solution.

Our Fashion and Textile Labs are well equipped with latest technology like 3D printing, Laser Cutting, Digital Printing, Computerized Embroidery and Knitting Machines. etc.

The programme offers a learning experience with a key focus on design thinking, innovation, and product development. After completing the programme students will develop a personal style and vision to become a successful design professional.

2 Year PG Structure

This program is underpinned by several key academic objectives, which specifically cater to the realm of fashion design and its subdomains.In the two-year master’s program in Fashion Design, students quickly establish a strong foundation in observation, visualization, and the historical narratives.

The first year, the learning concentrates on the holistic understanding and skills of core subjects. They develop basic skills and knowledge, including fashion visualization, fashion making, understanding of design elements and principles along with a creative design process.

Theory based module like Fashion Vs Clothing helps students to understand Fashion as a phenomenon that goes beyond clothing. Students get familiarized with different materials, textile techniques and understanding of different structure and properties of fabrics.

They explore a variety of surface techniques for value addition and surface embellishment.??The students are introduced to the rich heritage of Indian craft and traditional textile techniques through craft visits, masterclasses and workshops with artisans.?

In the final year students opt for a specialization in a particular area of interest in fashion domain. Students get options for different garment categories; advanced technical areas and they are expected to proficiently explore and manipulate theories with conclusive and relevant explanations.

At this stage students will be acquiring and mastering advanced subject competencies, through independent exploration, and application of complex theoretical frameworks of design practices with guided mentoring to develop application and synthesis of unique ideas focusing on specialized skills.
