This professional-standard facility provides access to live financial data from global markets and organisations. Integrating the use of Bloomberg Terminals into our teaching develops professionally relevant skills in data analysis, financial reporting, financial risk management and financial modelling. 

The majority of our MA (Hons) Accountancy and Finance graduates go on to become chartered accountants in either professional practice, industry, or the public sector, but many go on to successful careers in banking and finance.

This accounting and finance degree helps students to develop a broad understanding of the contexts in which modern accounting operates. Entry Requirements:

  • Year 1
  • Standard entry requirements for the first year of our MA (Hons) Accounting and Finance Degree are as follows:
  • Scottish Highers of AABB
  • A-Levels of BBC - ABB 
  • 29 International Baccalaureate points 
  • BTEC awards of DDM (in relevant subjects; business, accountancy or finance preferred.)
  • Higher National Certificate of B in graded unit 
  • Minimum entry requirements for the first year of the course include*:
  • Scottish Highers of BBC
  • A-Levels of  BBC - ABB 
  • * Under our Fair Access Policy, we will relax our standard entry requirements for Scottish students depending on their circumstances. Our minimum requirements will apply if you live in an area within the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation lowest 20% (SIMD20), or are care experienced.
  • We can also make exceptions for some Scottish students with grades above minimum but below standard. Read more about our minimum and standard entry requirements.
  • Year 2
  • Standard entry requirements for the second year of our MA (Hons) Accounting and Finance Degree are as follows:
  • Advanced Scottish Highers of BB (including at least one: Accountancy, Business, Economics, Maths plus AAAB at Higher)

  • 34 International Baccalaureate points (including at least one of: Accountancy, Business, Economics, Maths at Higher Level 5)
  • Higher National Certificate of A in graded unit Accounting
  • Higher National Distinction of BBB in graded units (Accounting or Business)
  • Global College Successful completion of Accounting and Finance with Accelerator Programme
  • Year 3
  • Standard entry requirements for the third year of our MA (Hons) Accounting and Finance Degree are as follows:
  • Higher National Distinction of AAA in graded units (Accounting)

  • You must enter in year 1 to gain maximum exemptions from accountancy bodies such as ACCA and ICAS.
