Machining is crucial to the field of precision manufacturing, especially in Minnesota. Dunwoody offers more than just a CNC program. You will learn both manual and computer-controlled machining and other processes in a state-of-the-industry machine tool facility.
Train in Solidworks and MasterCAM software. Complete hands-on projects on both manual machines and those using advanced manufacturing processes, including CNC (computer numeric controlled) lathing, CNC milling, wire EDM (electrical discharge machining), and sinker EDM. Learn mold and die making and how to plan, layout, and inspect machining jobs. Show your creative thinking by using your machining skills to create a Rube Goldberg machine or a mold for use on a Dunwoody’s plastic injection machine.
Course work is closely aligned with standards set forth by National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS), which means employers have confidence that you’ll be ready to work on day one.
It begins with learning. But that is only the beginning. At Dunwoody, we challenge students to come determined and graduate destined. That means being ready to do things, ready to apply that learning.
And ready to understand that knowledge alone will never truly satisfy. If you are hungry, if you have a passion, if you are determined to learn, create, make, and refine – Dunwoody is right for you.
We welcome students from all backgrounds – new high school graduates, returning military members, and adults who want to hone marketable skills. Dunwoody will provide you with state-of-the-art labs, real-world tools, and educators who have worked as professionals in the field.

Strategic Goals
In this live, instructor-led training course, students who already have a programming background will learn to program in Java. Attendees will learn: how Java works and its place in the world of programming languages; to work with and manipulate strings; to perform math operations
In the C++ Programming course you'll learn fundamental programming concepts, including decision making, looping, and classes, with the support of practical, step-by-step examples.
The three-day mill CNC training course teaches operators/programmers to navigate and program the control using Milltronics conversational pages. Students spend their first day learning about floating zeros, tool offsets and front panel operations.
Basic programming concepts and techniques. Topics include familiarization with and utilization of computer systems; developing logic; preparing top-down design of problems; and creating programs.
This course fills the gap between an introductory course in C and more advanced application programming. Students write many programs, concentrating on data structures and file I/O.
