Come for a half day workshop and make your own custom banner!
Banners can be personalized with 2-5 words and are fun for hanging in your room or gifting to a friend or loved one. Participants will sew the banner, attach vinyl with a heat press, and hot glue ribbon in place for hanging.
Once you register, you'll be contacted to pre-select your phrase, script/cursive or block letter font, and flourishes (stars, hearts, etc.). Vinyl will be pre-cut for attendees.
Basic sewing skills encouraged (be able to independently thread the machine)
Minimum enrollment for each workshop is 2 students. Grab a friend!
Cut & Sew is a modern quilt shop and sewing studio that offers sewing classes and workshops for kids and adults in Northwest Philadelphia. We serve our community's children through after-school clubs, homeschool lessons, workshops during school breaks, and camps over the summer.
For adults, we offer sewing and quilting classes for all skill levels, studio memberships, equipment rentals, and a modern quilt shop with thoughtfully sourced fabric and notions. We aim to be an inclusive, accessible, supportive part of our creative community.
Learn to sew over four sessions with in-depth instruction!
Our instructors love to turn amateurs into experts and experts into superstars through our wide variety of classes in sewing, embroidery, garments, quilting, machine techniques, and more.
Learn the basics of sewing! This class will cover both hand-sewing and machine-sewing techniques for practical use in everyday life. We’ll take a look at different types of stitches, as well as how to do minor repairs. You’ll even get to make your very own pillow!
This class is for the student who has never sewn, has minimal skills or needs a good refresher. Students learn how to thread a sewing machine, choose a size, cut out a pattern, follow instructions and create a wrap skirt or elastic waisted pencil skirt / causal pants for men.
Summer Sewing Camps are done for the year check back next summer! Sewing Camps are available for students ages 6-19. They are held in the summer between July 5 – August 24th.
