The University is responsible for the implementation of measures to prevent work related stress. It is essential that managers are advised and trained on their part in managing this issue.
We have a duty to risk assess all hazards in the workplace that could affect both mental and physical health. Consequently, this course is mandatory for all Heads of Department and any person with line management responsibility.
The aim of the session is to provide clear guidance on managing individuals suffering from work related stress using an approach based on the Health and Safety Executive's Management Standards for Work Related Stress.

Understand their role in managing work related stress;
Be aware of the legal considerations that apply;
Understand the approach based on the HSE Management Standards for work related stress;
Be able to apply knowledge learned to real cases.
