We offer English classes at various levels as well as a wide range of other languages, typically including Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, Korean, Russian, Japanese and more on offer.
Our classes usually run for 10 weeks, taking place once a week on campus.

Our Story
The idea for the International Society arose back in 1966 when Eva Auerbach, a Chaplain at the University of Manchester, felt there was a need for an independent organisation to provide welfare and social support to international students.
Under the direction of Ms Anna Ford the Society was founded. From small beginnings of less than a hundred members we now have around 6,000 members from over 130 countries each year.

The International Society is a unique one of a kind, independent charity based in Manchester that has been celebrating cultural diversity and promoting global friendship for over 56 years.
We aim to provide international students with a warm and friendly welcome when they arrive in the city and to make their time in the UK a wonderful experience. Our activities including trips, classes, events, activities and volunteering opportunities are open to all.
While the majority of the Society’s members are international and British students studying at the universities and colleges in the city, many are people who have come to live and work in the UK, or members of the community interested in meeting people from all over the world. The Society is family-friendly and people of all ages get involved.
This semester the Language Centre will be offering over 80 classes in 14 different languages. Classes range from Beginners to Post A level and are available in Mandarin Chinese. This semester we will have both online and in person teaching.
Chinese Language is offered by Learn For Life Enterprise for all skill levels. Learn for Life. Our language courses are ideal for people; looking to start a new hobby, going on holiday, who work internationally, who want to integrate in their community, meet new people and travel.
Chinese Language course is offered by Language Class. Our courses are taught by highly qualified and experienced teacher who are extremely dedicated to ensuring you leave with all the necessary skills to broaden your horizons and never be lost for words again.
All of our teachers are native Chinese speakers, with experience of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
There are 22 provinces in China. Each province has its own customs, culture, food, language and landscape. The 1.3 billion population of China comprises 56 ethnic groups and there are many regional languages spoken across the country amongst which Mandarin Chinese is considered the official Chinese...
