Our Chinese courses are designed to develop conversational skills that will be especially useful in business or while traveling. The reading and writing of simplified characters are also taught but not emphasized.
The Department of World Languages and Literatures offer course in Chinese. In addition to a diverse variety of course offerings the department offers a variety of internships and study abroad opportunities.
In this course, the student will be able to develop socially and culturally appropriate proficiency in interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes at the novice mid-level in Mandarin Chinese. Note: Students must pass this course with a C or better to continue to CHI1121. ( 4 hr. lecture )
