In-person in downtown Montréal or online from the comfort of your home, we offer a wide range of courses, for youth and adults, in nine languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin, and Modern Arabic). Whether you want to learn a new language or improve your language skills, the YMCA International Language School is there to support you in your learning.
The study of Chinese opens your mind to a new way of thinking and seeing the world. The two introductory courses (CHIN 1001H and 1002H) give you the ability to communicate in Chinese and to start learning some written Chinese characters.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to hold a basic conversation. In addition, this course is also ideal for those who wish to gain knowledge into the culture for business practices.
Mandarin course is offered by Brock University. Our courses are taught by highly qualified and experienced teacher who are extremely dedicated to ensuring you leave with all the necessary skills to broaden your horizons and never be lost for words again.
Cantonese classes are offered from beginners to advanced level.
This course is a very basic introduction to the Mandarin language. You will learn “survival” words and phrases, and receive ear training for Mandarin tones to become aware of how the meaning of words change in Mandarin.
