Manual Handling and Lifting Safety

To train personnel in the practical skills and job safety knowledge necessary for carrying out manual handling operations safely in the workplace.

• MHSWR (The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (1999).
• Concepts of Human kinetics
• Facts on backs
• Lifting safely

• Posture
• Hand mechanics
• Manual lifting
• Pushing and pulling
• Problems of handling
• Strain prevention
• Movement analysis
• Use of barrows, etc (where applicable)
