Course overview
This 2-day course has been specifically designed for nominated experienced staff in the care industry, to monitor and supervise junior staff to complete moving and handling of people to a high level in line with National Back Exchange (NBE) Standards and Health and Safety Law.
All manual handling training courses are taught by a fully qualified Advanced Member of the National Back Exchange (NBE) in line with NBE Standards and the Moving and Handling of people 6TH Ed (HOP 6).
Entry Requirements
Nominated Experienced staff in the care industry. Care home managers, Supervisors or senior care staff with an interest in this subject that want to increase their knowledge to be able to endorse correct manual handling techniques, reduce staff injury and set high standards in care.
Certification
On successful completion of this course the student will be awarded a certificate of competence for their CPD file in line with current best practice and H&S law.
A full training pack with all current legislation of best practice and outlawed manual handling techniques.
Content
At the end of the session the students will be able to understand and:
Identify their legal responsibilities with regards to moving and handling of people.
Understand the requirement for maintaining a good posture.
Demonstrate safe moving and handling techniques.
Explain the importance of risk assessment and its relationship with moving and handling.
Identify poor manual handling and unsafe techniques in accordance with NBE Standards.
Understand the basic functions of the spine and the damage caused by poor manual handling.
Be able to use moving and handling equipment safely in line with LOLER.
Complete risk assessments.
Be confident to the approach to best techniques to use in manual handling of people.
Be able to use moving and handling equipment safely in line with LOLER.

CIPHER Medical was founded by co-owner Andy Thomas after he left the Royal Air Force in late 2015. The aim of CIPHER medical was to Deliver the highest standards of clinical care both to the event medical industry and to the National Health Service.
