Students will understand how companies use marketing strategies to achieve organizational objectives. Through assignments and projects, students will make strategic marketing decisions related to product, pricing, distribution, and marketing communication.
Students will look at avenues to promote a business through numerous topics including social media, traditional media, themes, marketing, advertising, desktop publishing, and incorporation of the latest technology.
In this course, students will examine how marketing is practiced in Canadian business today. They will explore the purpose of marketing, the environmental forces, how target customers are identified and the process of market segmentation and positioning.
This introductory course addresses the basic principles of marketing. Students will learn about the marketing process, customer relationship management, the importance of gaining customer insights, sustainable marketing and ethics.
