Your SAF undergraduate and MAcc degrees will prepare you for professional accreditation. MAcc students can gain depth in career areas such as business valuations, forensic accounting, taxation, and finance to give you a career "head start". Take advantage of your MAcc courses to explore and discover potential career interests that will open doors to your financial management career.
The purpose of this mentorship program is to provide interested School of Accounting and Finance undergraduate and MAcc students with the opportunity to learn more about an academic career in audit, assurance, accounting information systems (AIS), or enterprise risk management (ERM).
Specifically, the program will expose students to the research and teaching responsibilities of accounting professors in one (or more) of these areas and provide students with valuable information about the benefits and costs of pursuing a PhD in the applicable area(s).
To be eligible for the Master of Accounting program, you must have graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Accounting and Finance programs.

The Professional Master’s Diploma (PMDiploma) in Accounting is designed to enable individuals to advance their professional careers and work towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting is designed for a student that has completed a bachelor's degree and has decided to further their education by pursuing the CPA accounting designation.
This program is designed for those in the CPA pathway and encourages the development of critical thinking, analysis and communication skills and prepare students to write the CPA Common Final Exam (CFE).
The Accounting major examines the factors influencing the design, provision, quality, use, and impact of financial and non-financial information on a variety of stakeholders, including investors, managers, auditors, creditors, and organizations.
The Post-Degree Diploma in Accounting (PDD-AC) is for students who hold a bachelor's degree and wish to pursue a career in accounting. Applicants who do not hold a degree in business or commerce are advised that this is a very rigorous program.
