Students are empowered to nurture a critical analysis and grasp the areas of law. This would encourage the exploration, inquiry and further understanding of the boundaries of contemporary application of the relevant specialised area of law. The Master of Laws (LL.M) is designed to enhance the theoretical and practical expertise of students and provide them with a professional edge. The Master of Laws (LL.M) courses offered are predominantly driven by the needs of contemporary legal practice. They include courses in highly specialized areas as well as general areas where the principles underpinning that area are complex and require a depth of understanding.

First Semester

  • Public International Law
  • Private International Law
  • Introduction to Law and the Malaysian Legal System

Second Semester
Discipline subjects for 8 credits may be selected from the given list in Discipline Area 1/2/3:

  • Discipline Area 1 (LL.M General)
  • International Law of the Sea
  • Law of the WTO

Discipline Area 2 (LL.M Commercial Law)

  • International Commercial Law
  • International Commercial Arbitration

Discipline Area 3 (LL.M Islamic Banking & Finance)

  • Law of Islamic Banking
  • Law of Islamic Finance

Elective Subjects (Need to choose ONE (1) subject for every electives)

Elective 1:

  • Transaction in Islamic Law; or
  • International Business Law

Elective 2:

  • International Trade Law; or
  • Law of International Sale of Goods

Third Semester

  • Research Methodology (2 Credit Hours)

Fourth Semester

  • Dissertation (12 Credit Hours)
