Programme Overview

• Threats to our cyber security are real and Malaysia requires professionals with knowledge and skill to understand and mitigate threats systematically. Thus, effective management and governance, as well as technical skills, are essential in ensuring cyber security risks and threats are well managed. Through this combined approach, Malaysia can maintain and protect its critical services and information infrastructure from cyber security threats that emerge over time. Therefore, the need to build expertise in cyber security skills become very significant.To meet this demand, the National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM) offers a program that is capable of producing responsive and diligent cyber security experts in Malaysia.

Our program has some specialities as compared to others because of the following:

• To produce graduates who can cope, adapt and make appropriate decisions in a dynamic cyber security environment through applications of integrated knowledge, disciplines and theories.
• To inculcate positive values, and attitudes and provide operational and strategic cyber security skills so that the graduates can work in any organisation and serve the Nation.
• To equip graduates with an integrated knowledge and demonstrate the ability to perform as IT professionals and will be prepared for continued learning throughout their careers.
• To produce graduates with the capability of providing cyber security services in the field of computer security to society as well as national computing needs.

Structure of Study

• The candidate must complete 41 credits of courses comprising core courses, elective courses and project dissertations that will be delivered in various modes including lab work and lectures, individual and group assignments, case studies and presentations.
