Master Of Science In Information Technology

The MSc in Information Technology (MIT) program is by research where the candidate, under the supervision of senior faculty, will undertake independent research contributing towards the science of information, the practice of information processing, and the engineering of information systems.

The candidate is required to complete a thesis research which must constitute a significant original contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the chosen topic.

The research can be in a specialized area (e.g., Data science, AI, IoT, cybersecurity, cloud computing, blockchain, augmented reality) or across disciplines (e.g., IT in health, finance, retail, government, education, supply chain). Research of inter-disciplinary nature is especially encouraged.

Malaysia University of Science and Technology is IoT & IPv6 Centre of Excellence approved by ITU.

Upon successful completion, the PhD holders can take pride in being able to:

• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the chosen topic and mastery of skills and research methods related to the field of IT.

• Contribute to original research that broadens the boundary of knowledge through an in-depth thesis, which has been defended and presented and according to international standards, including publishing in international journals and conference proceedings.
