Master's in Economics

Earning a master’s degree in economics from OSU serves the dual purpose of preparing students for doctoral study and for employment in business and government. Graduates from OSU have had success in finding positions with public utilities, state and federal government agencies, private industry and financial institutions.

Curriculum

• OSU’s master’s degree in economics offers a plan of study that emphasizes quantitatively-oriented classes. Students have the opportunity to observe and participate in current research through the department's series of workshops in which OSU faculty and other universities participate.

Research and Faculty

• OSU economics faculty are intellectual leaders who regularly publish in top journals in their fields, and the program is consistently ranked in the top 10 percent of all economics institutions in the world by Research Papers in Economics (RePEc).

Admissions
Admissions are decided on a holistic approach with successful candidates meeting the following preferences:

• GRE with a suggested minimum score of 155 for math and 156 for verbal (Note: These scores do not guarantee admission).
• International students must also submit proof of English proficiency in the form of a TOEFL or IELTS score.

Admission to the Master’s in Economics program is suspended until further notice.
