This class will start to introduce you to more types of fabrics and the equipment you need to sew them confidently.
The first part of a lesson will be a skill session where you will learn and practice new skills. You can also be work on a project of your choice. These lessons are guided lessons where the tutor will give you some independence and assist you as needed.

Based in Abury, the studio provides an environment where you can feel at ease, inspired and able to learn from an experienced and very patient tutor. It is an escape from our busy lives and a place where you can grab a coffee and start creating.
The studio has two learning rooms; The Sewing Room and The Sun Room. It also has a lovely kitchen area where you can access bottomless cups of tea and coffee, snacks and of course some healthy food as well.
Our after school classes will introduce a love of sewing to those aged 9 and over, including teenagers. Our students learn a variety of basic skills from hand stitching to machine use and then go on to use that knowledge to create their own project.
You can learn this beautiful Japanese stitching technique for embellishing fabric and quilts.A small Japanese stitchery (placemat size) using sashikoThis sashiko stitchin is on a single layer of indigo fabric.
Learn to make a pattern and sew a skirt followed by a fitted top, then I will show you how to alter the top pattern and turn it into a princess line dress.
Sewing classes are offered by Cherry Pie Designs for all ages and skill level.Â
Designed for the novice sewist, the Sew from Scratch 6 week beginners course helps participants to improve their confidence through a series of fun sewing projects. Â Start with getting to know your machine and move through to using patterns and basic garment construction.
