Necessity is at the source of every creation, and ARCH College of Design & Business also started off with a deep necessity for a DESIGN based education. ARCH was set up in 2000 under the aegis of the ARCH Educational Society, to reform & transform the quality of education for design aspirants across the globe.

Spread across 80,000 sq feet in the heart of the Pink City- Jaipur, ARCH is equipped with cutting-edge technology and online pedagogical infrastructure to offer students premium education and learning experiences!

The industry-oriented emphasis on learning at ARCH provides students with the means to grow as sensitive, creative designers and practitioners of craft with clear goals to contribute towards Indian culture and society through synergizing traditional knowledge and skills with contemporary methodologies.

To promote Creative entrepreneurship and employability, ARCH’s set up Social Design Business Incubator (hubIN) and started the CampusToCompany initiative which provides support to students to find the right professional opportunities. ARCH facilitates the necessary mentoring and networking connections required to help foster the development of scalable business models based on transformational designs and innovative thinking and achieve commercial success through 'start-up' enterprises.

AIEED

ARCH conducts AIEED (All India Entrance Examination for Design) for Undergraduate & Postgraduate courses in Design since 2010. Accessible to interested candidates around the world, this ‘Screening for Design Studies’ and its parts and stages is conducted to assess the abilities of aspiring designers for a career in Design.

The college offers a wide gamut of industry-oriented courses of international standards with university certification. Experienced faculty members are involved in the development of the curriculum, to ensure that these courses offer the perfect combination of practical & theoretical skills, with the latest techniques, processes and peer learning supported by an understanding of the socio-cultural context & industry needs.

Inception & Journey

The various UG, PG and Certificate level design programmes offered are Fashion, Interior, Product, Jewellery, Graphic, Photography, Digital Design and Design Communication, coupled with specialised courses combining Design education with Business and Entrepreneurial knowledge.

ARCH is affiliated with the University of Rajasthan for Bachelor of Design Degree (B.Des) and B.B.A (Design and Entrepreneurship ) and the Rajasthan ILD Skills University (RISU) for Master of Design Degree (M.Des), Masters in Design Entrepreneurship and Professional Development Certified Courses. Additionally, in strategic partnership with Pearson, ARCH is accredited to deliver six BTEC Level 5 HND qualifications in Art and Design.

ARCH is a voting Member and participant in international bodies: the World Design Organisation (WDO), the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI), Interaction Design Association (IxDA) and CUMULUS and National Memberships in the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the Indian Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) and the Association of Designers of India (ADI). With such strong links with industry, ARCH provides its students & faculty with global exposure and numerous opportunities to thrive.

Currently, ARCH is a part of the RISE project with European educational institutions in the Netherlands, Finland and Belgium. In addition, ARCH is in the process of completing a proposal to apply for Erasmus Plus funding for developing an appropriate and helpful curriculum for a course in Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. As a natural extension to this exercise, it envisages the setting of a Centre for Entrepreneurship & Sustainable Practices in India.

Towards this, ARCH continues to establish agreements with advanced foreign Higher Education institutions; to maintain & improve upon globally recognised and accepted benchmarks in the quality and delivery of Design education.
