The M.Sc. Program is offered jointly by NCHMCT and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The graduate from M.Sc program will be able to perform at a higher level being able to deal with a greater complexity of material. The depth of study provided by the program will enable the graduates to become better managers with a depth of understanding and width of synthesis abilities.
The program emphasizes on the development of the student’s ability to acquire knowledge and understanding through pursuing a philosophy of independent learning and research. Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata is one of the premiere hospitality institutions in Eastern India, under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. IHM, Kolkata was founded in 1963 with its temporary campus located at 21, Convent Road. The founder Principal was Mr (Late). P. A. Koshy. It started with a total number of 16 students only. Gradually it gained in popularity and the number of students also grew in leaps and bounds over the years, In the year 1980 the Institute was shifted to the new building with a campus at P-16, Taratala Road which is the present address. The campus are equipped with state of the art infrastructure with top class residential facilities.
It is a co-educational Institute offering Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree programme in Hospitality & Hotel Administration that is accredited jointly by National Council for Hotel Management, Noida and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. In addition to this it also runs a number of short courses in Food Production, Food & Beverage, Accommodation Operation and front Office.
