Primary 3
Flag Up Math

We have prepared programmes to allow learners to consolidate their knowledge as our mathematics tutors get the learners ready for this critical milestone.

In Primary 3, we will introduce heuristics, an essential method of mathematical inquiry. Instead of ‘drilling’ knowledge, we approach learning through understanding. Hence, our mathematics tutors In Mavis Tutorial Centre will guide learners through different processes to secure this objective.

For Primary 3 Math, our core aims are:

• Further exposing learners to Heuristics as they build upon their Creative Thinking Skills

• Consolidating Primary 1 & 2 syllabi’s critical concepts as we guide our learners to prepare for the end-year streaming examination

• Introducing the skills involved in solving problem sums

• Increasing our learners’ numeracy, logic reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Primary 4
Race Ahead Math

Our mathematics tuition frequently exposes learners to heuristics or higher-level logic questions when learners reach Primary 4. Mavis provides our learners with patterned practice, which helps transition them into solving challenging questions.

We will arrange for increasingly levels of difficulty so that our learners understand and firmly grasp the fundamental concepts before tackling more complex problems. Our objectives for Primary 4 Math are:

• Allowing progressive learning

• Establishing and developing the foundation to prepare for Primary 5 and 6: the ‘crucial’ years

• Using consistent practice to better develop our learners’ numeracy, logic reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Giving learners greater exposure to heuristics to acquire the mastery of solving mind-bending questions

Primary 5
Accelerate Math

During Primary 5 Math tuition, we help learners accelerate their learning progress by reinforcing their fundamental knowledge, so that they can eventually excel.

Our objectives are more straightforward but are no less important because the syllabus taught may be tested in a PSLE math exam.

Our goals are to help learners with:

• Development of numeracy, logic reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills through consistent practice

• Higher-level logic thinking

• Methods to solve different types of problem sums

Primary 6
Score Math

Since learners in Primary 6 are preparing to take the PSLE, lessons are more detailed and focused. Hence, we will constantly revise previously learned concepts. To help learners prepare for PSLE Math, our objectives are:

• Exposing learners to different types of problem sums

• Helping them come up with out-of-the-box techniques to concepts and numerous methods to arrive at the solutions for many types of questions

• Providing ample practice to prepare for PSLE

• Getting learners to apply different methods to solve maths questions
