MCSE

The Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification comes after the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA). The students of this course need to be recertified every three years. This certification will gradually replace the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification.

The MCSE – Server Infrastructure certification validates that the candidates have the skills needed to run a highly efficient and modern datacentre, with a strong expertise in identity management, systems management, virtualization, storage and networking.

This certification is an advanced level credential, building on the foundational skills developed at the MCSA certification level. To earn a preliminary MCSA it takes 2 or 3 exams depending on subject matter, in addition to which the MCSE credential seekers must also pass two or more additional exams relating to their area of expertise and focus.

The MCSE candidates must possess MCSA pre-requisites and then take five exams to earn that credential (but the same MCSA can be a pre-requisite for multiple MCSEs such as, the Server and Desktop Infrastructure MCSE, both of which take the MCSA: Windows Server 2012 as a three-exam pre-requisite).
