Mechanical and Manual Handling Safety

This course is based on emphasising safe manual handling and mechanical lifting operations; such machinery include cranes, powered industrial trucks, forklifts and conveyors. Recently, the use of mechanical handling techniques has increased work efficiency and reduced cases of manual handling-associated injuries.

Unfortunately, some tasks still cannot be replaced by mechanical handling. Manual handling of heavy loads at work still continue to contribute to a significant number of workplace injuries. Thus, it is essential to instill proper manual handling techniques among workers.
