Ownership
In 2018, Avensys was acquired by the VAMED Group, a multinational company that operates in 95 countries and employs over 18,000 people worldwide. Avensys are the bio-medical engineering arm for VAMED in the UK, accompanied by sister companies IHSS (Sterilisation) and Audere Medical Services Limited (Decontamination).
Avensys continues to operate independently of our parent company, focusing on the needs of our customers in the UK market. However, involvement with the VAMED Group has allowed us to benefit from their relationships with manufacturers across the world as well as leverage their financial might. This course will explore the key principles and applications of Medical Imaging, and their relevance to current developments in physics.
We offer subspecialist training and fellowships in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, vascular and non vascular interventional radiology, GI / liver, chest / cardiac, radionuclide, breast, MSK, paediatric and oncology imaging at local specialist hospitals.
We organise radiology education and training courses, aimed primarily at radiologists, but also open to allied professionals such as medical and surgical clinicians, and radiographers.
Sheffield’s Radiology training Programme is well established, highly regarded and located in a compact geographical area in the centre of the UK. All facets of radiology training are available locally at every stage of the 5 year programme.
This course is designed to provide in-depth academic teaching of the scientific principles underpinning x-ray and CT imaging, including descriptions of the imaging components, system testing and performance, patient dosimetry, factors affecting image quality and examples of optimisation in healthca...
