This course will provide the students with the learning outcomes they will require to become a successful Medical Office Administrator with specialized skills of Medical Transcriptionist. It will give them the additional skill-upgrade opportunity.

​We offer SKILL UPGRADE COURSE in Medical Transcription, which are of different durarions. Those students, who  have some Medical education & knowledge, can opt for shorter duration program.  All our Health Care programs are conducted by health professionals with vast knowledge and experience in the medical field.

  • Certificate of Med Transcription - BASIC PROGRAM (Online) - Equal to 15-20 hrs in-class- 1 to 2 weeks
  • Certificate of Med  Transcription -  INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM (Online)- Equal to 25-35 hrs in-class- 3 to 5 weeks  
  • Certificate of Med  Transcription -  ADVANCED PROGRAM (Online / Blended) - Equal to 35-38 hrs in-class- 6 to 8 weeks

 

Course Content:

The course content includes:

  • The fundamental knowledge and understanding of the Medical Transcription Profession.
  • Basics of dictation-transcription process, transcribing Medical Dictation, Healthcare Records and  Medical Reports.
  • Use of computerized technology and different Work Environments related to medical transcription.
  • Main tools of medical transcription, digital dictation systems and use of the reference books.
  • Various types of medical reports.
  • Main parts of the history and physical examination report.
  • Diagnostic and Laboratory test reports.
  • Significance of the reference values, various drug forms and the common routes of administration of drugs, and their therapeutic values.
  • The process of dictation and importance of proofreading skills.
  • Common Medical Dictation and Transcription errors and ways to avoid it.
  • The wrong Medical or English words, misspelling words, typographical errors,  omission of  important dictated words, selecting grammatical errors, punctuation errors.
  • Bloopers through the use of MT Interactive program and learning activities.
  • Editing  technique of  mispronunciations, slips of the tongue, malapropisms, and other dictating errors.
  • Types of important reports - History and Physical Examination, Preoperative and Operative Reports, Laboratory Tests, and Pharmacology.
  • Medical readings pertaining to various systems of the body such as Dermatology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular system and Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Medical terminology review, and lay and medical Terms.
  • Common Diseases, Diagnostic and Surgical Procedures, Laboratory Procedures, and Pharmacology.
  • Abbreviations forms, sound-alike terms. 
  • The perspectives on Medical Transcriptions — A Doctor’s View, A Transcriptionist’s View and Employer’s view.
  • Chart notes, operative reports, nurse notes, progress notes, surgical reports.
