This course is about planning, supervising and managing the use of MEWPs, and not about operating equipment. It ends with a theory test that candidates must pass. Upon successful completion of the theory test, candidates will receive an IPAF certificate. Those who hold a valid Powered Access Licence for operating equipment can have the MEWPs for Managers (MM) category added to their PAL Card.

Anyone who is responsible for planning and overseeing the use of MEWPs on their site, including employers, project managers, foremen and supervisors working in a broad range of industries such as construction, facilities management, retail, airports and arboriculture, and need to know the safe and effective use of MEWPs on site; including planning the job, conducting a risk assessment, selecting the right equipment for optimum cost-efficiency and mitigating all possible risks.
