In the course of day-to-day life, we can all too easily become lost in our thoughts or distractions and miss out on what is around us and what is truly important in our lives. Mindfulness is a practice of “paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, without judging”.
Developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, this is an 8-week course that offers guided mindfulness practices to help practitioners reconnect with the present moment.

Douglas also offers hundreds of short-term, high-quality non-credit courses, programs and workshops to around 8,500 students through Continuing Education and The Training Group, in areas such as business, music, health, perinatal, career development, industry training and more.

This is an introductory meditation course that begins with the beginner and moves step by step through the powerful tool of meditation in many different modalities.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to use mindfulness and meditation in their everyday lives.
This course will define and explore the practice and benefits of meditation.
Build a 'mindful mindset' and become more productive, focused and in tune with those around you.
Learn how the mind and brain work to create emotion, and gain the tools and techniques to regulate emotions as you manage and lead within an organization.
