Calming the Mind
This introductory course is designed to help learners understand how to resource their health and wellbeing and overcome stress, worry, and overwhelm in our busy lives. You may wish to rediscover a sense of balance and purpose, by learning how to bring ‘mindfulness’ into your daily routine. This course is delivered to small groups, maximum of 8, to provide a ‘container’ of safety’ in which the learner can gain confidence and develop skills to progress onto the next course- Finding Peace in a Frantic World.

You will deepen your understanding of key topics such as cells and organ systems, chemical bonding and reactions, waves and materials and learn different psychological approaches and how research is conducted, with a large unit on health psychology.
Mindfulness training is a wonderful way to help you deal with whatever life (and work) throws your way. It is the practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present and has been found to be a key element in stress reduction and improving overall wellbeing.
During the workshop you will be invited to explore and discuss various aspects of mental health and psychotherapy practice and intervention. Themes will be drawn out and extended through facilitation in the group and experiential activities where you will be able to play with your ideas and develop
