Practical training and evaluations with onsite equipment are then performed during the second portion of the training. Course duration is dependent upon the previous experience of the students to be trained but is typically offered in a three to four day session.

Establishing crane capacities using load charts
Factors that reduce capacities

Introduction to basic rigging including:
Basic rigging components
Inspection of rigging
Basic hitches
Sling angles
Load weight determination
Center of gravity
Lift planning
