This program consists of a 3-4 hour classroom training session followed by a practical operating test and is recommended for new and existing operators of multiple types of mobile elevated work platforms and aerial work platforms. ( Scissor lifts, straight and knuckle booms)
This program will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to correctly and safely operate your type of elevated work platform specific to your operation. Elements covered in the training program will include:
Current applicable legislation
Vehicle stability and stabilizer systems
Causes of accidents/injury and hazard awareness
Operator responsibility
Pedestrian awareness
Power line clearances
Fall protection (System components, fit and anchor points)
Capacity plates
Control systems
Pre-shift inspection and rep
Competent operators must know, not only how to operate the particular class of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms to which they will be operating, but also be aware of the hazards associated;
Evaluations
There will be an evaluation on the theory of MEWP
Practical evaluation on Fall Protection on Equipment
Practical evaluation on operating specific equipment
