Mobile Elevated Working Platform (MEWP)

Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training would be delivered to you on your own site; you would need to supply the machine/equipment and an area to conduct training.

Basic training must be conducted off the job, however during later stages of the training some work tasks may be able to be incorporated once candidates have reached an acceptable standard of safe operation. Every endeavour is taken to minimise the impact on normal working operations and ensure that training is relevant and industry specific.

Training Is Available On The Following Types Of MEWP:

• Articulated Boom (Cherry Picker)
• Fixed Boom
• Scissor lift
• Trailer Mounted
• Vehicle Mounted
• Vertical Personnel Platform

You Will Learn:

• Site Safety
• Responsibility of the operator
• Legal requirements
• MEWP stability
• Daily safety checks & maintenance
• Basic hydraulic and electrical systems
• Simple manoeuvring
• Refuelling/recharging
• Advanced manoeuvring

This course qualifies you to operate the specific type of MEWP for which you receive training. To operate a different type of MEWP requires a conversion course. To operate on any site in the UK with permission of the person responsible for the site H & S. It does not qualify you to instruct others in the use of MEWP or supervise anyone who has not received formal training and qualifications in the use of a MEWP.
