For technology to bring every student one step closer to reaching their potential for Robotics, Coding, Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Graphics Design and Video Editing.
Students will develop beginner projects, focused on social impact and community, by using a block-based programming language. The curriculum is focused on introducing students to UI/UX, conditionals, sprites, nested loops, and functions.
Teens learn the building blocks of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, along with the history of web design from the 1990's onward. Sample projects include an introduction to tags, elements, attributes and the structure of a basic web page, as well as functions, variables and events in JS.
This versatile and widely used programming language is a great next step for experienced programmers. It also offers a “on-ramp” to middle school students ready to learn to code!
They will learn how to code an image upload form; how to code custom image filters (and of course how to give them cool names like the ones on Instagram!) and how to code a photo gallery. They will also learn about some of the server technology behind file upload and sharing.
Students in this class will learn how to build and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® Mindstorms® EV3 technology. Their new skills will be used to solve real-world problems and help the town after a natural disaster.
