As the field of modern dance has developed and other dance genres have become more defined, the term, modern dance, has become almost obsolete. Where it once fought for the recognition it is now expressed, adapted, and displayed through many genres of dance including jazz, classical, and contemporary.
Contemporary dance draws on both modern and postmodern dance as a source of inspiration and combines steps from ballet, jazz, and tap.
Gauteng Dance Studios was started by Isabel Stapelberg in 1995. It has grown with such a pace that it was decided to open more branches in the Centurion area. In 1996 we opened the Rooihuiskraal branch, 2005 the Midstream branch, 2010 the Hennopspark branch and in 2014 the Midridge branch. We strive to provide the BEST standard of work for all our students who participate each year in IDF Exams, festivals, local and International Competitions and a yearly show.
Gauteng Dance Studios accepts new learners from the age of 3yrs tot 12 yrs and dancers with previous experience ages 13yrs to 17yrs. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced levels into a year-round program.
