Modern dance, from a technical perspective, unfolds more on the floor than in the air, refusing classical ballet’s stress on the feet as the primary catalyst for dance movements.
Instead, it lays stress on the torso, on the flexibility of the spine, as well as on contact with the floor, and is usually performed in bare feet.

Ages 4 to 6 years. Children explore basic creative movement and basic ballet. Children are encouraged to expand their movement vocabulary through movement games, creative exploration of time, weight, and space.
After an appropriate amount of Ballet is studied, dancers may begin training “en pointe”. Dancing in toe shoes requires strength and correct body alignment. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have instructor’s approval.
With the teacher, the students will tame the language of ballet and its technique while respecting the different bodies and the limits of each one.

Ballet classes is offered by ETUDES Dance Studio. Dancers will learn a ballet or a jazz dance. They will focus on ballet technique and fun jazz moves.
