Upon completion participants will have the knowledge and skills to support a rich learning environment.
This course consists of four (4) weekly in class sessions.Students receive a certificate upon successful completion.
Course Content Includes:
Montessori theory and an Introduction to the Toddler Community
The Preparation of the Adult
Creating Spaces for the Development of Movement
Creativity and Art for Toddlers
Language Development for Toddlers
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course participants will:
Be aware of the toddler’s developmental needs in the Montessori Toddler Community
Understand Montessori theory as it pertains to movement, art and creativity and language
Understand practices for toilet independence
Be able to design an optimal environment for Toddlers, including materials required for each area of the classroom

The Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CERTESL) Program is a 23-credit unit, undergraduate-level, distance-delivered program designed to meet the instructional needs of current and prospective instructors of English as a second language or dialect both in Canada and abroad.
