This programme, adds novel techniques of data analysis, involving the use of coding to interrogate ‘big data' to the standard content of a postgraduate degree in economics, with coverage of economic theory, econometrics and policy analysis, to prepare its graduates for careers in industry, public service, and research training.
Taught by academics with extensive experience of the design and delivery of econometrics training, specifically through their leadership of these elements of the collaborative Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics.
This collaboration among Scottish universities precludes Heriot-Watt precludes the offer of an MSc in economics, and the proposed programme fits well with the mission and capabilities of the department.
