Our music teachers are well accomplished musicians with lots of teaching experience, and are able to help with any level of music theory, from beginners to Grade 8.
Whether you are looking to work towards actually grading (Grades 6-8 even count towards UCAS points) or just want the knowledge for practical use within songwriting, we are happy to help you on your journey to becoming a well-rounded and competent musician. Lessons are taught 1-2-1 at your own pace or in group lessons based on ability.
UK recording studios provide an ideal environment for learning, as well as recording your work. In our teaching and rehearsal rooms, we provide drum lessons, guitar lessons, piano and singing lessons, from beginner through to professional level.
Many students thrive by learning in this wholly exciting music orientated environment, with classes taking place in our professional purpose-built and fully equipped rooms and studios.
For added security, we have CRB vetted tutors and vocal coaches, with CCTV throughout the building – creating a totally safe environment for all ages.
We offer private music theory lessons in Southampton, Hampshire and surrounding areas for mixed ages and abilities. Our expert Music Maestros have many years of experience helping beginners, intermediates and advanced musicians improve their technique and performance.

We will guide you through the theory as a stand alone subject or as preparation for a music, GCSE or A Level exam. Some music degrees require Grade 5h Theory as part of their entry requirements.
Music Theory is an important part of a musician's understanding and so at HMMT it is always a part of our lessons, whether this is by working through the ABRSM graded workbooks, by playing games or by completing worksheets and puzzles on the topics covered in the tutor books.
Music theory classes are offered by Bishopbriggs School of Music. All our tutors are highly experienced, full-time musicians and all have full PVG disclosure.
