Our essential Mixed Age class is one that a child attends from birth through age 5 and is currently being offered outdoors and in the classroom. Music Together is designed to teach the way young children learn--through play.

We take a natural, family-style approach to all of our classes. The grownups follow the teacher’s lead, so the little ones can watch their musical example and participate at their own level.

Babies watch the big kids who show off their developing musical skills—it’s magical to watch the interactions in a Mixed Age class!

Our teachers believe that all children are musical and can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and participate in the music of our culture, provided their early environment supports such learning.

Merry Music Makers offers research-based curriculum, so we know our stuff. But getting silly and engaging our students is part of our secret sauce!

Amber Farish grew up in Orlando, Florida, and has been living in Illinois since 2014. Her love of music and play allowed her to take to the Music Together curriculum like a fish to water, and under the mentorship of Julie De Grandpré, she completed her training in 2021. When Amber is not leading group classes at Merry Music Makers she teaches private voice and piano lessons in the suburbs at Des Plaines School of Music. Amber earned her Master’s Degree in 2016 in Vocal Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
