A 2-day, strategic “how to” course for risk mitigation and trading in natural gas markets, both continental & LNG.

Participants undertake several market analysis activities: learning strategies & tactics to minimize risk, maximize revenue streams & gain competitive advantage, no matter the state of markets.

Natural gas prices lingered in a decade-long slump before dropping even further in 2020.  Blame in 2020 was placed mostly on decreased demand for gas caused by a global economy virtually shut down by the Covid-19 virus.

More recently, the Russian invasion of Ukraine concerned market watchers, who initially expected European natural gas prices to spike & remain high, affecting North American markets, too.  Recent conflict in Israel and Gaza is another geopolitical concern.

Though global LNG supply has suffered disruptions (a June 2022 facility fire in Texas, for example), natural gas price shocks were not severe last year thanks to warm winter weather & producers / transporters nimbly filling Europe’s storage facilities.

Again, the winter of 2023/24 saw low natural gas prices.  Wars in Ukraine and the Middle East continue, sanctions on Russia remain in place & inflation persists — all confirming the world in 2024 is as troubled as ever.

Many potential problems could pull energy markets out of the doldrums overnight. Natural gas price volatility appears to be an ongoing issue over the medium-to-long run — The Alberta Energy Regulator projects a price ranging between CAD$1.80/GJ & CAD$6.73/GJ until 2032.

So, in the second half of 2024 you are faced with brutally low natural gas prices.  Can you squeeze out any profit at all before the expected 2025 price rebound?  What if that rebound doesn’t materialize?

Or what if it happens tomorrow instead?  Critical to success is training & preparation.  This course is full of activities & case studies relevant to today’s gas markets.

Our instructor is an expert in the field, with much trading & other market experience & is now Research Director at one of North America’s largest consultancies. His finger is on the pulse of the industry in 2024.
