The Autodesk Navisworks Fundamentals course teaches you how to better predict project outcomes, reduce conflicts and changes, and achieve lower project risk using the Autodesk Navisworks Manage software in a BIM workflow.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) encompasses the entire building life cycle. BIM includes all phases of the design process, from model creation to construction and ending at operations and maintenance.
Using a BIM workflow, you will learn how a design changes throughout the BIM process and how the changes affect the BIM model.
During this course, you will learn how to consolidate civil, architectural, structural, and MEP models into one BIM model. Starting with an Autodesk Civil 3D drawing file, you will append various Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Inventor models and check for conflicts.
Note: Clash Detection is only available in Navisworks Manage – it is not available in Navisworks Simulate or Navisworks Freedom.
Next, you will use review and markup tools for communicating issues across disciplines. Finally, you will use TimeLiner, Animator, and Clash Detective to simulate construction and find constructibility issues and on-site clashes.
This course is designed for new and experienced users of the Autodesk Navisworks software in multiple disciplines.
Topics Covered
Understanding the purpose of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and how it is applied in the Autodesk Navisworks software.
Modena Technologies, along with the other member companies of the Modena Group, is a predominantly family-owned enterprise, run by a diverse pool of talented individuals both inside and outside the family.
Our roots lie in Modena, the Northern Italian town (and our family name) famous for its food culture, its balsamic vinegar and of course, for being the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the racing and sport car manufacturer – Ferrari.
By contrast, our offices, the Modena Design Centre, nestles quietly in the magnificent Constantia valley outside of Cape Town, South Africa.
A wine-making region since 1685, the valley is known for its excellent viniculture, in particular for its Grand Constance sweet wine, so much a favourite of Napoleon Bonaparte, that he maintained a standing order of 30 bottles a month. As a company we draw inspiration from both locations.
What we do
We at Modena Technologies provide consulting services, hardware and software in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC); as well as the Product Design, Manufacturing and Mining Industries.
The Autodesk Navisworks software revolutionizes design review. The software provides interactive visualization and real-time walkthrough of even the largest and most complex 3D models.
The Navisworks Essentials course provides a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of Navisworks and introduces some key features that help with a more advanced workflow. The user learns how to manipulate models from a variety of different software to achieve the desired results.
During this course you will learn how to consolidate civil, architectural, structural, and MEP models into one BIM model.
Salvator Developments provide training in various Autodesk Software packages, either online or in-person.
