This Level 1 Certificate is designed for adults considering a career in caring for children. This qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to care for young children and it covers children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development.
During this course, you will be given help to improve your digital skills.
What attendance is required?
This part time course is delivered at our Adult Learning Hub and 100% attendance is expected for the duration of the course. Continued non-attendance to any timetabled sessions may result in losing your place on the course.
How is the course assessed?
You will develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes that you will need to progress into childcare positions. You will be assessed through a variety of ways including, activities, group work and completion of assignments, which will be presented through a portfolio of evidence.
You will be assigned a tutor who will support you throughout your time in College, and teaching staff will work closely with you to help you achieve planned learning goals. Our learning centres are equipped with modern resources that will support you to be able to achieve positive outcomes and gain your qualification.
What does this course lead on to?
This course is the perfect stepping stone to further education and enables progression onto a Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner.
