Will I gain any qualifications?
You will gain a NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma.
Do I need any knowledge, skills or qualifications?
You would normally be expected to hold a relevant level 2 qualification, and have level 2 qualifications in English and maths. You will need to have a good command and understanding of written and spoken English. Proof of at least 200 placement hours is required.
What could this course lead to?
Healthcare support staff can work in a variety of different settings within the NHS and private care facilities. The role of the support staff is to provide assistance to healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating and caring for patients.
This course could provide learners with the entry requirements needed to continue studying as a trainee Nursing Associate.
Course content
The qualification is formed of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover core competencies while the optional units allow learners to choose from a variety of specialist areas to tailor the qualification to their needs, interests and to reflect the context of their work.

How will I learn?
You will have information delivered by tutors as well as developing self-directed learning so that you can carry out your own research and enter into productive group and paired discussions.
You will demonstrate your learning and skills by producing work and evidence for your portfolio, which will be carried out as homework or practical work in the setting. . A substantial amount of Independent study and research is required.
Since August 2019 its funding has come through the West Midlands Combined Authority and learners on some courses also pay fees towards the full cost of their course. Around 13,000 adults study each year with adult education.
The level 4 and 5 Diploma in Education and Training is a nationally recognised qualification for those individuals who aspire to hold a teaching role within an extensive range of teaching or training responsibilities.
