NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety

The course consists of ten teaching days, followed by an examination. The teaching days can be blocks or day release, but the examinations are taken at the end of the course in any event.

At the end of the course, attendees will have gained skills and knowledge which will enable them to identify and correct risks within the working practice of their environment. The course consists of three units, all of which will be tested in the final examinations.

• Unit 1 - Management of Health and Safety, which will include communication pathways, record keeping and other preferred practices.

• Unit 2 - Controlling workplace hazards, which will outline risk assessment and practices to follow any procedures flagged up during the process.

• Unit 3 - Health and Safety practical application, which will follow the day to day implementation of good practice in the workplace.

Examinations will be NGC1 and NGC2. NGC3 is a practical examination, in which the candidate must show an understanding of the identification of health and safety issues in their workplace.

Training Method

The overall course is 10 teaching days and an additional examination day.

Delegates are assessed with written examinations for NGC1 and NGC2. The NGC3 is assessed by a practical examination, thus showing their ability to identify health and safety issues in their workplace

Certification

All those passing the exams will be awarded an accredited NEBOSH certificate for each unit passed along with an overall NEBOSH General qualification certificate.
