Course Details

The NRA Risk Assessor (NRA) is the person responsible for conducting workplace noise exposure assessments as required under the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise) Regulations 2019.

An employer must appoint, employ, or hire a competent person called the NRA to carry out a noise assessment in accordance with the standards set by the Department.

 

The Noise Risk Assessor (NRA) must:

  • conduct noise risk assessment at the place of work as required by the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019 within valid registration period;

  • ensure valid calibration of the noise measuring equipment used for noise risk assessment;

  • notify Director of the respective DOSH state at least 14 days before conducting any noise risk assessment;

  • complete and furnish a full report of the noise risk assessment to the employer within 30 days upon completion of the assessment;

  • present findings of the assessment and recommendations on noise control to the employer within 30 days upon completion of the assessment; and

  • submit a noise risk assessment summary report (as per Appendix 9) to the Director General within 30 days upon completion of the assessment.
