Occupational Cert: Real Estate Agent

Meraki Property Solutions provides a comprehensive, accredited training program designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to function effectively as Real Estate Agents. Real Estate Agents play a pivotal role in guiding and facilitating various aspects of property transactions, including buying, selling, letting, financing, and managing immovable property and businesses.

It is legislated by the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) that to be a full-status real estate Property Practitioner, you must be found competent in the outcomes-based NQF Level 4 Real Estate.

Curriculum

• The Occupational Certificate in Real Estate is a specialised certification that prioritises hands-on learning and real-world work experience.

• This qualification consists of three parts:

Knowledge Modules [38 credits]

These provide the theoretical foundation necessary for a career in real estate.

• Legislative and Regulatory Framework, NQF Level 4, Credits: 7

• Ethical Business Principles, NQF Level 5, Credits: 8

• Developing Relationships, NQF Level 4, Credits: 7

• Brand Reputation, NQF Level 4, Credits: 3

• Property and Real Estate Services, , NQF Level 4, Credits: 8

• Financial Business Principles, , NQF Level 4, Credits: 5

Practical Skills Modules [37 credits]

These offer hands-on training to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.

• Employ macro trends to develop contracts in line with client needs and comply with legislation, NQF Level 4, Credits 7

• Apply ethical principles in the interest of all stakeholders, NQF Level 5, Credits 8

• Build proficient and sustainable client relationships, NQF Level 4, Credits 6

• Develop and maintain a personal and professional brand through innovation and continuous improvement, NQF Level 4, Credits 3

• Perform property and real estate duties resulting in successful transactions, NQF Level 4, Credits 8

Work Experience Modules [75 credits]
These integrate classroom learning with practical workplace experience under the supervision of a mentor or principal.

• Procedures to identify the property and real estate environment and comply with legislative and regulatory framework, NQF Level 4, Credits 13

• Processes and procedures for applying the Code of Conduct and adhering to ethical business principles, NQF Level 5, Credits 15

• Process to build internal and /or external client relationships and databases, NQF Level 4, Credits 12

• Procedures to build a brand reputation and develop a target market, NQF Level 4, Credits 9

• Practices to manage the property and real estate function, NQF Level 4, Credits 15

• Process to apply financial business principles, NQF Level 4, Credits 11

Fidelity Fund Certification
A fidelity fund certificate is only mandatory when the learner is ready to start the Work Experience Modules. This ensures that learners are fully prepared and compliant with industry standards before beginning their practical training. A candidate property practitioner holding a FFC from 01st July 2024, should register for this qualification within 180 days of obtaining the FFC.

Program Structure
The program is delivered through a learner management system, with online classes and recordings available for revision. In-person available on request. Tools and resources provided for completing the Work Experience Portfolio in a workplace setting under the supervision of your principal or mentor.
