Course Details

The program (noss) is focusing services on the business management and application of it in the office. The core competency includes incoming communications, outgoing communication, filing administration, meeting preparation, data entry, application software basic maintenance, and application software installation & upgrade. 

The competency in level 2 requires the ability to handle and organize the business management activities as assigned by the supervisory personnel.

Supervisory work at Level 3 business management is divided into two parts, namely supervisory and enforcement activities. The Supervision functions act as the go-between the superior and the subordinate staff.

This program (NOSS) provides first-hand information to the workers regarding the business management support operation and administration working environment. This NOSS also provides a career path and employment development for those involved in this industry.

Entry Requirements: School Leavers / PT3 / SPM

Certification: Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia ( SKM ) from Department of  Skills Development Malaysia. (Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran – JPK)

Course Code: FB-024-2-2012 (Level 2), FB-024-3-2012 (Level 3) & FB-024-4-2012 (Level 4)

The Office Management (level 2) personnel are competent in performing the following core competencies:

  • Incoming Communications
  • Outgoing Communications
  • Filling Administration
  • Meeting Preparation Assistance
  • Basic Data Entry

NOSS Description : FB-024-3:2012

This NOSS is developed focusing service on the business management and application of IT in the office. The core competency includes incoming communications, outgoing communication, filing administration, meeting preparation, data entry, application software basic maintenance, and application software installation & upgrade. The competency in level 3 requires the ability to handle and organize the business management activities as assigned by the supervisory personnel.

Supervisory work at Level 3 business management is divided into two parts, namely supervisory and enforcement activities. The Supervision functions act as the go-between the superior and the subordinate staff.

The Office Administration Supervision (Level 3) personnel are competent in performing the following core competencies:

  • Office Operation Coordination
  • Business Meeting Arrangement
  • Procurement Administration
  • Staff Administration
  • Customer Liaison
  • Office Safety & Security Administration
  • Event Arrangement Assistance

Optionally, the Office Administration Supervision (Level 3) personnel are competent in performing the following elective competencies:

  • Application Software Basic Maintenance
  • Application Software Installation & Upgrade

This course is designed to play a role when working in an administrative office. The approach used takes into account all the key factors of effective office management. The program also describes the duties of office management and supervision as well as producing documentation for a program. It can also foster a positive attitude towards work and play an important role as a supervisor and administrator

Program Description: FB-081-4: 2012

This program is developed for information system administration staff under the business management sub-sector. There is a high demand for skilled manpower in this field due to the rapid development of the industry.

IT support professionals perform a variety of tasks ranging from installing applications to designing computer networks and complex information databases. Some of the tasks performed by IT professionals include data management, networking, computer hardware engineering, database, and software design, as well as system-wide management and administration. The latter is the role of information systems personnel where they will be responsible for managing the information systems in their respective organizations.

Information System Administration Staff (Level 4) are competent in implementing the following core competencies: 

  • Information system security administration
  • Coordination of information system maintenance
  • Information system user training
  • Information System Inventory Control
  • Information system marketing
  • Project coordination

Further Education

  • A student who passed the certification levels 2 and 3 can either to proceed to
  • DKM (Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia) – Level 4 or
  • MQA Diploma in Business Administration/ IT/ Business Information Technology/other related disciplines if they have passed in SPM with 1 credit
  • A student who passed the DKM (Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia) – Level 4 can either to proceed to,
  • DLKM (Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia) – Level 5 or
  • VTO (Vocational Training Officer) – the endorsing certificate to be a lecturer for a teaching career.

  • Graduates can seek employment in various IT or Commercial Firms as Executive Officer, Personal Assistant, Executive Secretary, IT/Admin Executive, Database Administrator, Multimedia Designer, Network Administrator, Web Designer, etc. Besides, those who would like to be entrepreneurs can start their own business in various IT-related sectors.
