Offshore Banksman Training

The aim of this course is to provide workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely and efficiently in directing crane, rigging and lifting operations in an offshore hoisting environment.

Course objectives

Delegates to fully understand the roles and responsibilities of the offshore lifeboat coxswain (twin fall)
Delegates to understand the working mechanisms of the tempsc, and how to safely launch and manoeuvre the tempsc to a safe area.
Delegates to ensure that the safety of the passengers is maintained throughout.

Course content

This course is conducted as per offshore guideline. Covering following topics as per imo models.

The course includes classroom instruction and video audio presentation &training as per api recommended practice.

• Identify common unsafe practices & probable consequences
• Relate lift planning related incidents
• Understand relevant legislation applicable to lifting operation
• Understand basic function of a crane
• Understand crane hand and radio signals
• Understand lifting operation risk assessment
• Understand responsibilities of a banksman/slinger
• Understand safe and correct methods of slinging loads, correct use and care of equipment.
• Identification and demonstration of hand and radio signals

• Passport, cdc, indos & coc
• 2 passport size colored photographs
