Course Details

Boom type elevating work platforms (11 metre and over) require a Licence to Perform High Risk Work (category WP). Please note that this licence does not cover the holder for the operation of scissor lifts or vertical lifts.

Participants will be able to identify the safety requirements for operating Boom-Type Elevating Work Platforms and their working environments as well as being able to apply a working knowledge of the OH&S and regulatory requirements in accordance with Worksafe standards.

 

This Course Requires The Operator To:
    •    Plan work.
    •    Conduct routine checks.
    •    Set up elevating work platform.
    •    Operate elevating work platform.
    •    Shut down and secure elevating work platform.

 

Dress Requirements:

Closed toed shoes.  All PPE will be provided at Go Workplace Training facilities, and provided by the worksite for on-site training (this will be discussed at time of booking).

 

Equipment 

When the course is conducted at a Go Workplace Training facility, all equipment is supplied.  For on-site training, the equipment that must be available for training and assessment is discussed at the time of booking.

 

Material Required:

All material is supplied by Go Workplace Training including trainees guide, workbook, resource materials, assessment paperwork and administrative documentation.

 

Entry Requirements:

  • Can use the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work. 
  • Candidates must be atleast 18 years of age
  • Participants are required to have general good health and fitness and any pre-existing medical conditions that will affect the training must be disclosed prior to attending.
  • To obtain a Victorian Worksafe Licence, applicants must reside in Victoria or, if they reside elsewhere, have a valid reason for obtaining the licence in Victoria.

 

Outcome:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants receive a Statement of Attainment and an email from WorkSafe Victoria, with a link to a Notice of Assessment (which also acts as a 60-day temporary licence).

 Participants must lodge their Notice of Assessment on the My WorkSafe Portal or at a Post Office and pay the Worksafe Licence fee within 60 days.  Worksafe then issues their ongoing WP high risk licence, available on the My WorkSafe Portal or sent via post.
