This Breathing Apparatus training is designed for people who require, as part of their role to wear breathing apparatus in environments such as a confined space with hazardous gases/vapors, toxic atmosphere or in any other application requiring breathing apparatus.

Training covers both the operation and maintenance of breathing apparatus in an irrespirable atmosphere.

  • Using breathing apparatus control tally boards
  • Breathing apparatus safety and entrapment procedures
  • Cleaning, maintenance and testing procedures

 

 Participants will need to bring

  • Wear comfortable and practical clothing

Prerequisites

  • (USI) Number-Unique Student Identification.
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Photo proof of ID (drivers licence/Passport)
  • Have the necessary levels of health and fitness to safely use Self Contained Breathing Apparatus 
  • Have basic numeracy skills
  • Demonstrate ability to speak and write English to a basic level
